Best email program

As the title suggest, I am looking for a good email program.
Should be useable in linux and windows.

I used Thunderbird for a year, but somehow its not what I am looking for.
I am currently trying opera mail which looks awesome, but I don't know about the safety of opera. Also opera lacks in web developer tools so I would only use opera for its mail.

Are there other OS independent mail programs? Thanks in advance.

I've tested out all different types of web browsers, but I keep coming back to Opera because of how good it is. It is one of the safest, fastest web browsers out there today. I use Opera Mail myself, and it works great for me (had to do a little configuring first like all email programs, but it works great once finished). Try it out for a little bit, and you may like it yourself.

For your original question however, I did find a website with a bunch of good email programs that work with both Linux operating systems and Windows. Here's the link to that website: http://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/download-email-client-for-linux-mac-osx-windows.html
