beam of light selection for shops

remember in dota 2 when they added that highlighting effect that'd point at your hero when you pressed alt? they eventually replaced it with an arrow that's a lot like the model warcraft 3 uses to show which unit is using a shop, but I found the original thing quite pleasant to look at.

I'd like a subtle beam of light from the heavens to replace the huge, ugly, unthematic arrow for my shops. surely whoever might take it upon themselves to fulfill this request would do a grand service upon any maps which use shops.

sadly very little reference to valve's original model appears to survive so I cannot dig up even a picture.
