I'm issuing this map the Director's Choice Award.

This is a very well made map, the terrain is great, the texturing is Blizzard quality, with innovative ways of moving you hero from one attack lane to another (knocking down trees, where then they regrow a few seconds later, or using boats to sneak down rivers and landing on shores), sidequests, fully implemented AI, which makes even playing solo fun (they even buy items!), the heroes seem very well balanced, there is enouph imported skins to keep things unique and interesting, but not enouph to make the file size too big, which is perfect. Ther is a quick learning curve, so its easy to get into, the bases arent too strong, so matches are faily quick and prevent players from getting bored, and the file size is small enouph to easily support large-player-number games! In short, this is the perfect ideal b-net AoS game, and with any luck, the dota killer! So get hosting!

My suggestions: Use pathing blockers to section off the hills instead of boundry. Maybe use more non-pathing doodads to help liven up the terrain even more (i.e. muchrooms, lilly pads, flowers, cat tails, ect).

Overall excellent job. 5/5

indeed great map :)
I am just wondering, whenever u teleport in a regular map to an aos unit it stops to walk in the path and remains still, and in this map one hero (god of the blood on the horde side) has the ability to teleport to any allied unit in the map and if I teleport to an allied hero (which is played by the computer) it also stops moving. is there anyway to fix this since its quite silly, I realize its not a specific map bug but a bug in WC itself but is there a way to get around that?

again great map!

Wow, this is really, really nice. I love this, it's great for singleplayer, which is the only thing I can do because my bnet won't update right. 5/5

This AoS is very good, n the hero syst. is excellent! but it could still need some fixes n balancing... So what i really wanna know is, is this map still in progress, or is this last version? If there r any newer versions out, where can i get them?.. i would love beeing a tester for this map, coz it's got a bright future, that's for sure...

Shank me if you must but...

I most certainly dont think this is even comparable to DotA nor do i see how it could possibly be the number 1 rated map on this site. I am not jealous nor am i a Dota fan but i know this isnt the best map on the site and theres also people hideing away that agree with me but wont speak up. Here are my reasons:
-Extremely Unbalanced(Yes, worse then Dota)
-Ai is extremely dumb.
-At least 100 bugs.
-Nothing special or unique about it.
-No item combineing or special features like that.

+I think the devolopers had some kind of buttkiss relationship with VGstami and because she/he put it as directors choice everyone seems to have put their real opinions behind their backs and agree with VGstomi *shrugs*

With mercy, i rate this a 2/5.

To LoDown: I admire you for speaking differently from everyone else, however, I must disagree that this map isn't comparable to DotA. I might be a little biased however, as I'm not exactly a huge fan of DotA.

I concur that there are numerous bugs and such, and that there are no "special features". However, I never really was into those special features as much...Thus I don't really miss them much in this. However, I disagree in that the AI is dumb or that there is nothing unique. The AI in of itself IS the unique thing. It's possible to have only 2 people and play a game as if it was a full house. Yes, the AI tends to do dumb things like ignore your home base even if it's under attack and about to be destroyed, or all cluster onto one path (which, by the way, is something I feel should be fixed up a little), but then again, this is the first time I've EVER seen this implemented, so cut them a little slack and give them some points for creativity.

The whole DotA vs. this thing...DotA is INCREDIBLY overbalanced, to the point of detracting from the game. I don't think this is all that unbalanced; it may be less balanced than DotA, but it's still pretty well balanced.

Suggestions now...
- A more unique type of hero thing. I have a really good concept (genius, if I do say so myself :p, which I'll share with you as soon as I complete my own map which implements this idea), but you could also have a custom hero building-type thing, like the Hero Builder Arenas.
- More paths. It's just a pet peeve, actually, but I would personally prefer more.
- Making AI heroes be 'smarter'. They tend to clump together in one path (once, I was playing one player, and all 4 of my allies were on the middle path, and all 5 opposing heroes were on the lane I was in), as well as forget about the home base.
- A wider range of items, maybe. I think the item range is a little small.
- Nobody had Wind Walk (another pet peeve :p. Feel free to ignore them).
- When buying/hiring ships...it's really expensive, for one, and two, there are only 3 kinds of ships and there's only a stock of 1, and it replenishes quite slowly. I would add stock/speed to make it a little less impossible to destroy the ghost ship that wanders about the map.
- Everything costs a lot, and you make very little money. Maybe (don't know if you have this already) have one of those so-and-so gold/second things.

Ok I gotta say that this map is EXTREMELY overrated, and thats why I have to start with the downsides. It brings nothing new, and I have played dozens of AOS maps like this that dont get Directors Cuts. It brings absolutely nothing unique. The AI? Ive seen it in quite a few maps, ever heard of EotA? The items and heroes are boring and drab. The bases arent the best looking in the world, with the tower walls and all. Im sorry for being so harsh, but a map that gets a Directors Cut is *supposed* to be top notch and deserves the toughest critisizm. I did enjoy this map for a little while, but it is absolutely nothing compared to the likes of DotA.

*sigh* its when maps like these get directers choice that i loose faith in humanity. Make no mistake at all: i'm not a DoTA player to any extent. I do, however, thuroughly love the AoS gameplay. My first reaction to this game was that the bases looked like they where made in a rush, and look extremely primative to me. Next, the heroes are boring, uncreative and all around i found them boring to use. The terrain is, as well, poorly done. I've played so many AoS games, example EoTA and Water Wars (which terrain is the only good thing in that game, but its done extremely well.) that combine many different levels of terrain and side paths that are key to achiving victory. The items are also boring, which would be acceptable if there was an item combining system, however no such system has been implimented. The spells' tooltips say nothing about what the spell actually does, which left me confused as to which to choose. The game does not bring anything new to the playing field, and the game EoTA was the first game that brought AI to the AoS games, and the AI isn't as advanced as EoTA either. Persionally, i would rather play even DoTA than this game. I think VG does a great job giving directors choice most of the time, but we all make mistakes sometimes. 2/5

-some AI heroes can just stop doing anything unless provoked, others go on suicide missions
-AIs get in the game without them being chosen by the host
-players can buy from the enemy shops
-items are not that diverse and need 0 cooldown so players won't have to wait for an item to be available again
-the enemy Fortress can be attacked by ranged heroes and units after the first two Towers are destroyed
-after level 10, heroes level up but don't have any more spells/abilities to improve/choose from

Overall a decent concept: 3.5/5
