battle.net error

for some reason, everytime i download the latest patch and try to play battle.net it keeps saying it could not validate the game version and to restart battle.net or install the patch manually, do i have to download from a specific gateway? like i live in canada so i was thinking lordaron or something, could somebody help me? also this is very old account, im making a comeback as soon as my warcraft is fixed
