Base ability

I'm struggeling to find the perfect base ability for my single target spells. What is the best ability for dummy spells? I just want it to fire and do absolutely nothing exept target someone, so my triggers ca do the rest.

Chain Lightning with nulled values + number of targets set to 1.
Storm bolt dismissed - interrupts channeling spells.
Chain Heal works fine too.

Forked Lightning - (same operation as CL).
Channel - option: visible + type: Target, follow through time set to 0

Just to inform: avoid using spells with buffs because even if you set duration to 0.01 (0.00 in most cases means effect becomes permanent) will overwrite previous buff (but only buffs from other same-based ability).

Can I disable the lightning effect of Chain Lightning?

An even better, Allbeit harder to use abillity is that of the "Channel". Basically, you can edit it to be almost anything, A singletarget spell, Aoe, interrupt, no target cast etc.

But Channel can't have the "ground-target marker", you know, the Earthquake ability where when you press the hotkey, a target-marker will appear on the ground

Yes it can, give it a radius, enable "targeting image", and target type "point target" or "unit or point target"

In options choose 'Target image' or something similar (my WE is in Polish ;d) and you have your AoE indicator up.
