Hi, I was wondering how I would go about backing up and moving a 5.0 mysql data base to a 5.5, anything would be helpful due to my low knowledge on this.
The procedure on this should be fairly straightforward.
- Put your database into offline mode (so nothing is being written to it while doing the move)
- Dump the database to a file
- Move the file to the new MySQL install
- Import the database
