Hi all,

Here's an icon I am working on, it's a WIP at the minute. It's probably about the third icon I ever made so please tell me what you think and give me suggestions for improvements.

I'm not really happy with the wood effect I have at the minute, so if anyone can point me in the direction of a better one I would be grateful

It looks nice, and it wont be noticeable when it's resized. But I'd say make the detailing more straight.

Id adjust teh contrast on the handle to make it stand out. XD.

It needs to be a more saturated dark brown.

Needs some sort of background or reflective light.

Thats really nice for a first icon, but i agree with everyone else that if the handle was a little bit darker it would look better. And dont forget to put the wc3 border around it when its done. Sorry but i dont know of a link where it would be. =(
