[General] attachment points not visible in model editor

The 'origin' attachment point is required for models to work as attachments. Therefore one can infer that models such as those used for damaged buildings should have them. But for some reason they don't show up for me in Magos' Model Editor?

And another way around, I give a human tower an orb spell that puts an attachment on 'weapon', and the attachment shows up in-game. But 'weapon' is nowhere to be found in the model editor

1: Is there an explanation for why this happens? 2: Is there a more reliable way for me to check which attachment points a model has?

SFX don't need an origin attachment or anything, it's the model they're attached on that matters

As for why they show up, your guess is as good as any. Sometimes the editor just chooses to place them wherever it can and it just happens to work, but as a rule, buildings don't have a weapon attachment
Unless there has been a change from 1.30 to the current version with regards to attachments, that's not true. I just double checked by changing the orb of fire attachment model to the archery target model, and it does not show up.

I swore that it also said so in multiple places online, but for some reason I am unable to find anything on it now.

You can check just about any SFX in Magos, none of them will have an origin or any attachment point, here's Hive sanity check result with the priest healing effect, and I'm using that model from the old mpq archives

So I suspect the problem lies elsewhere
why does yours look different from mine? Do you have a different version, or did you open a different window than the Node Manager?

^ That was a screen from this tool, my Magos looks the same old :)

I see.
That sanity checker is nice, but I don't feel very sane, because I am completely unable to identify any traits that distinguish models that work as attachments and models that don't.

Take this model, for instance. Torch Attachment
The creator describes making the model as simply rotating it (so it is correctly placed in the hand) and making it smaller. But the model it is based on (Doodads\LordaeronSummer\Props\TorchHumanOmni\TorchHumanOmni) does not show up at all when used as an attachment, while this custom model does. So what extra thing did the creator do? I cannot find anything about it.
