Spiked Caparace - weird buff behaviour

You can only remove the spikes from Spiked Carapace by editing the default Spiked Carapace buff? Any copies of it are irrelevant? O__O

Nevermind. I will use Spiked Carapace (I forgot about it before posting here, then I suddenly remembered it).

What spells can change armour but with real precision? Stuff like Inner Fire and Faerie Fire and Item Armor Bonus are integer. Devotion Aura has real-value but it is an aura and updates too slowly when changing levels. Frost Armour has real-precision modification but it slows melee attackers down.

So, what can I do?

Ahh, wait, I found Spiked Carapace. Maybe it will work. But in case it doesn't post your advice anyway.
