hi

my units have 10 ShieldArmor and 10 normal armor. the weapons which attack those units are set to ArmorReduction : 2%, shieldfactor and shieldbonus set to 0
no other bonuses.

now the strange thing is that the shield takes alot more damage than the life. normally the shield should take full damage and life should have a 20% reduction.

or do units have only 1 armor? but toss always had 2 armors....

Armor in SC2 works by fixed quantities and not percentage...

Thus...
Your shield has a damage reduction of 0
Your armor has a damage reduction of 20

Thus any unit dealing 21 damage or less will only deal 1 damage to the unit's armor and full damage to the shield.

Usually it is set to 1 so that 1 armor corrospons to 1 less damage.

What you are after probably can be done via stacking buff behaviours with damage reduction.

i haven't used 2% as value, i used 2% of the damage, but still the shield doesn't take full damage. the hp damage is much higher than the shield one.

------------------------------
not sure but could be a problem with another damage increasing buff tower, so it only increases the hp damage.... i'll check that and post again...

------------------------------
that tower adds a behavior which increases the damage response. field value fight - damage response - partly modifie (the one which modifies the %) : 4 ( means 4 times damage) . but this should affect hp and shield damage!!
