AOE/Ultimate Spells vs. Magic Immunity

I just got back from testing a map I've been working on. Well I was creeping with my custom hero, a Dark Ranger with an assortment of spells. One of these spells was Starfall, which I had no modifications done to it, other than the cooldown and mana cost. Well one of the creep I was fighting with had Spell Immunity, so once SF was casted, this particular creep was taking on damage! :eekani: So my question is: are units with Spell Immunity not protected from AOE spells, or in this case, Starfall? Next time, I'll try adding Resistant Skin to the unit and see what happens. BRB Hopefully, my question is answered by the time I come back...

Edit: thanks a bunch. Well I've also tried, resistant skin, but that didn't work either.

To my knowledge of basic games, spell immunity doesn't work if it doesn't like, directly pick them, starfall will work, but entangle roots will not, i'm pretty sure immolation hurts them, but mana drain will not. (To my knowledge and assumptions of playing)
