AoE kills not giving experience

Hey I'm pretty new to the WE but all the tutorials on this site have really got me started. However I've looked around and cant seem to find anything on this problem I'm having so here i am.

Anyways, I have an ability, a simple grenade that causes splash damage. The problem is the kills from the splash damage do not give my hero experience. Do i have to make a trigger to get this working or what?

Here's how I'm doing the splash damage

Unit - Cause FragGrenade to damage circular area after 0.25 seconds of radius 100.00 at (Target point of ability being cast), dealing 20.00 damage of attack type Spells and damage type Fire

Please tell me the whole trigger, and is it a magic with lvls or just a normal unit magic?
