here is attempt to improve my terraining skills. i think i need more stuff around the trees and stuff but what do u guys think? its only about 25% of the full map thats completed.

Your terraining is pretty bad. I'd say it's on par with mine. Try reading some of HernanG's tutoriuals as they are very, very good. PS It's spelt 'Ancient'.

I cannot comment on the terrain as you almost only see some big trees stuffed up your face.

Well I tried to be polite about it, but yeah, leave it to Rage to give you the truth in a very blunt manner. It's tree's, not terrain. Keep trying though

yeah thanks.... it was a first attempt... i was looking more for Constructive criticism rather then insults. how are these replys going to help me? i know they are not that great i never said i was that great. i was just looking for a few pointers that would help me become better at terrain. yes i did look at the terraining guide.

I did not insult you in any way, I simply told you that you couldn't see anything because of the mass amount of trees right infront of the camera.

I suggest you chill down a bit before you call forth the angry mobs and tell them to burn the witch.

ok well i hope this is a better angle, what im looking for is why is my trees bad, i really didnt get a good answer. how would i improve it? thin them out? make each one a diff size? more stuff around them or what? simply saying its a bad map dosnt tell me how to become better.

Use more variatons!

Ok. Use more than one type of tree! that will make your map look ALOT better. Add some terrain variation [diff types of grees, dirt, etc] Maybe add some critters.

And uh. Post like 5 diff screenies from diff angles. its hard to tell anything about it with just one view.

Don't use the Blizzard terrain fog when you have hills and stuff since it doesn't spread evenly over it. Also, there isn't much to your screen - just a bunch og hills and trees. There's no real "eyecandy"

Yeah usually you have a path or a clifftop or something scenic to look at. You have a hill. Wow. A hill. Look at that. If you look at any portrait, painting, photo of a landscape the artist always tries to capture a scene. Yours is a hill. Notice the differences.
