Game Overview

Project started: December 18th 2011
Map released: December 24th 2011

Amira is released on the EU server, named Amira Tower Defence.
Amira is released on the NA server, named Amira TD.

Lore

The Humans have expanded to other planets, due to Earth being crowded. One of those planets are Amira. A peaceful planet, much like ours. After a couple of years on Amira, the Humans got company. An unknown, and very agressive species has settled on Amira too. The Humans must now defend their new home against the unknown species.

Objective

The objective is to hold back the incoming waves of Zerg. To achieve this, the player has to place structures, which attacks the incoming enemies. If an enemy reaches the city, the player is defeated.

Features

Unique controls using WASD - You control the building placement and abilties with WASD.

About 25 minutes of playtime - Game length has been balanced to suit you, the player, best.

Gameplay similar to Plants vs Zombies - Amira brings new features to Starcraft 2, such as the amazing controls inspired by PvZ.

Advanced, yet userfriendly Interface - Amira takes the UI of the classic tower defences to the next level, with full custom UI, while still keeping it simple and clean.

In-depth tutorial for newcomers - Amira features a tutorial, which explains mechanics and controls.

Detailed main menu at map start - Amira has a beautiful, dynamic main menu.

Beat your personal highscores - Keep track of your personal highscores, such as kills, killingspree, best wave, games played and difficulty played.

5 difficulties and 5 gamemodes - Difficulties and gamemodes lets you customize your game experience, to make it suit just like you want it to.

13 unique structures - Amira contains 13 structures, each with very different effects and strategic placements.

Randomised waves and events - Amira keeps a nice balance between random and set waves. No game will be the same, but the veteran players will still survive better than the new players. Amira also has randomised events on the battlefield. Enjoy watching Zerg air getting crushed by Thors, or banshees flying by.

Beautiful environment - The environment contributes a lot to the game experience, and Amira has done everything possible to make your eye like what it sees.

Custom achievements - The all-new achievement system in Amira, challenges players in a new and exciting way. Amira currently has 15 achievements for you to hunt.

Anyway it looks reasonable and the construction system is prety unique for a SC2 map.

Yea, the controls are probably one of the main features of Amira.
I thought the main feature of that was that the spawns would try and eat your towers... The clip I saw of gameplay did not show the zerg killing the towers.
True, the zerg will not destroy your towers, but actually move directly through them. I did it intentionally, and for very good reasons.
Amira reminds of Plants vs Zombies mostly in controls, layout, and gameplay.
