Hello guys, I have been provided with beta versions of Warcraft 3 and an alpha of Warcraft 2. They are said to contain models not available in the current versions. I am not sure how much use this is to you, but I find it extremely cool to have such a special part of Warcraft history at hand...

Hello guys, I have been provided with beta versions of Warcraft 3 and an alpha of Warcraft 2. They are said to contain models not available in the current versions. I am not sure how much use this is to you, but I find it extremely cool to have such a special part of Warcraft history at hand...

Beta Footman model works perfectly for me. All the models I uploaded here worked perfectly for me, in editor + in game (patch 1.29.2).
Hard to say for the troll headhunter, but definitely looks more jungle-ish

Also thanks for the link, it contains the models I uploaded it seems but I think that this is way more accessible to people, giving them an easier and more user-friendly way to get some of these models.

Also I will make a request in the request forums soon for someone to make (willingly) working portraits for some of the units.
For example the Beta Footman has a broken portrait. The Orc Barracks seems to have a working portrait though.

if i remember right the footies had a horned helm right? there is also a unique steam tank model from the beta that you might find interesting it has the steam tank with a crushing ball instead of a big cannon.

(and oh now you finally see how the drink animation for the footman was supposed to look like with the helm looking like this instead of the bucket helm they got in the release)

The steam tank model you're talking about is already here on the website. At least I think it's the beta model?

I don't know if this thread is a good place to ask, but is this model actually available in the beta? I don't think I have ever seen this model uploaded in any sites (With Red XIII's recreation being the most closest thing available to use):

I think there are some official screenshots from blizzard themselves from the alpha/beta.
There was also a video where a blizzard employee was explaining some WC3 related things to an audience (basically a mini blizzcon?).
I remember he said that they were planning to make the Demons and actual race etc...
