Hello guys ! First of all, I'm not English by birth, so I already apologize if I make some mistakes

Well, I once downloaded the "Diablo Warcraft III" map (which can be found here: http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/maps-564/diablo-iii-warcraft-beta-v1-19b-112705/ ), and, when I opened it with the editor, found this:

http://www.noelshack.com/up/aac/deep-f0769e7458.png

o_O I admit I'm not the best at editing (though I really can make beautiful cards. I'm working on a campaign and will post it there once it's finished), but this... this is the first time I see craters like that. I can only raise the gound with the terrain editor, OR make a circular deep crater via trigger, but make rectangular ones... (plus, the trigger-made craters are not conserved with a save)

So I beg you  How can I make craters so deep ? I bet it's by using some other editor, but really, I would really appreciate a clear answer !

Thank you.

I heard you need to change something in mpq file to allow that, my guess is this line in war3.mpg\UI\MiscData.txt:
Code:
// Maximum slope in degrees, (86+ will disable slope limits)
MaxSlope=50
Let me know if it works

EDIT: tested, you need to change the file inside war3patch.mpq (same file, the UI\MiscData.txt), then you can change the height of terrain as you wish.

Uh... It doesn't work. I used MPQ Master to open war3.mpq, and I then changed to value (50 >>> 87). But nothing happened.

I also tried the same with winMPQ, and with values like 90 or 999.

How did you do it ?

Oh, yeah x) Excuse me, 'didn't notice it...

But which program did you use to open war3patch.mpq ? Oddly enough, MPQ Master doesn't work here... or I don't know how to use it :/

EDIT: by "doesn't work", I mean that all files are like "unknown.xxx" x)

I opened war3patch.mpq, I extracted MiscData.txt (somehow the UI folder appeared xD), I pasted the modified txt in it, but nothing changed in the editor. And I cannot import the new MiscData in war3Patch. :/

I'm a noob here, I know. My knowledge of the World Edit doesn't go this far.

Ah, I'm not using JNGP. I'll try with it and let you know the results.

Anyway, thank you !

EDIT: Uhh, wait... What IS JNGP ?

EDIT 2: No need. I found out. xD

I restarted it, yeah.

But to summarize. I'm here with my UI folder within my Warcraft folder, and there's MiscData modified in it. What should I do ?

I don't think it's worth it since M0RT explained me how to change it, but here you are.

As you can see, I changed the value from 50 to 87, beacause 86+ negates the limit.

The only thing I must do now is import it in war3patch.mpq and overwrite the other one.

Well I already did this, but still, nothing happened. Tested with WE and JNGP.

My craters are still the same.

EDIT: WAIT. Forget I said anything. I think it works.

EDIT 2: Yes, it works !! Awesome, thank you very much, man. :D
