Guys help me please, I'm looking for a good ability to use / edit so that when you click the ability, your guys bursts into flames, dealing damage to himself and others.

Eventually dieing though.

But you can use it whenever you want, one time.

A little more detail please. Is it an instant damage spell like Thunder Clap/War Stomp, or you keep the flame forever until you run out of hp/mana like Immolation? Or else?

But you can use it whenever you want, one time.

From this line, I guess it's like the Thunder Clap. I'm not sure Restor's way work though, I'm sure one simple trigger would do the trick.

  • Event - An unit cast an ability
  • Condition - Ability being casted equal to <YourAbility>
  • Action - Cause <Caster> to deal X damage type <WhateverYouWant> to <Caster>
( The damage to others come from the original ability. Just match them.)

Hmm, I think one of these should work. I'll try them in a bit.

One spell, it ignites your guy on fire, and anything within X distance is engulfed in a flame to, that deals Y damage per second.

And once you click that lite on fire button, you start to lose Z HP per second then.

EDIT:
Immolation with self damage?

Is it possible to able to turn it on, but not off?

Edit: It'd be great if it also looked like fire somewhat.

What I'm trying to do is make a unit for my castle builder map. He is a suicider, designed to run into the enemy base and just light stuff on fire.

For it to look like fire, just change the buff and effect to what you like.

Base your spell on Thunder Clap as a dummy spell.(If you don't know what a dummy spell is, read some triggering tutorials.
Create another spell, and base it on permanent immolation. Add "self" to targets.
Create a trigger like this:
Events
A unit starts the effect of an ability
Conditions
Ability being cast is equal to Thunder Clap(dummy)
Actions
Add Permanent Immolation to Triggering unit.

If you don't want the icon to show up, read a Spell Book tutorial.

I could attach my map, someone could add one in there, and if it's not right, I could always just edit the effects.

^^ Heh, in fact, it doesn't work :(
Gonna check why.

BTW. If I fail, you can try putting Immolation into a Spellbook ability and disable the Spellbook for the player. It shall make the unit have the ability, but cannot see nor use it. I hope triggers can cast it then. Gonna check this one too.

EDIT: Lol, I found out that NYI means Not Yet Implemented. Dammit Blizzard!

Of course... Maybe a trigger to remove the ability once it's cast?

Dunno removing the ability wouldn't remove the immolation too.

Forget the spellbook, only passives will work in a hidden one.

Here you have a quick test map. You have to type off to turn immolation off. (Just an example. You can add wait or whatever you want and then turn it off.).

Notice: it works well if only one unit per player has the ability.

Also, you can add a dummy ability that will be on cooldown to make it look like the immolation ability is cooling down and after the immolation is off and the dummy is cooled down, then remove dummy end restore immolation itself.
