A better way to export models?

I just tried out milkshape.

Why would I spend $35 on that? Hell I'll stick with blender.

Not to mention, it imports mdx files, but cannot display .blp files! WTF??

Err dude. You are stupid. You will NEVER make ANY PROGRAM use .blp files. And besides, I am not sure if blender even HAS an importer for mdx. Besides, blender is crap for lowpoly modeling. Blender is free and milkshape costs 35$. Conclusion? Milkshape is better and higher rated program.

I beg to differ there. Can milkshape sculpt? Does it have fluid dynamics? Does it have hair & fur? Can milkshape make outstanding renders? I don't think so. Don't say it's better than blender because it's not, in any way. But when it comes to wc3 modding yeah, milkshape owns blender.
There is a plugin for blender that can presumably import/export mdx, but as far as I heard it's more bullshit than it's worth and you can't do shit with it.

Exactly :p That is what I am talking about, blender is shit for wc3. However, it is good for renders, and animating. And this guy needs something that is capable of exporting .mdx properly, with animations, meshes, and materials.

LMAO. You just said Milkshape was better than Blender solely on the basis that Milkshape costs $35??? Are you serious?

Besides, I don't want to spend $35 on a program JUST for wc3 models (I know it has other uses, but that's all I'd use it for), not to mention I have no idea how to use it, and it isn't intuitive AT ALL. Hell I'd much rather make the models in Gmax.

Oh and... Blender does low poly modelling... it's just modelling without going crazy with detail...

One last thing: BLP FILES ARE JPEGS WITH ALPHA CHANNELS! The hell do you mean no program will ever use them? For starters WC3 uses them, Magos's modeller uses them!

No they are not, they are utterly more encrypted .JPG files WITH alpha channels as well. And if magos can open .blps, so should photoshop? After all, .BLP is shit format to work with, as it is basically JPG. Why the hell would you use it at all? Why not simply work in uncompressed 32bit TGA instead?

And, you've asked for a program that is the most suitable for wc3c models. First one is the one you will never be able to get, and the next one is milkshape. In it you can create mesh, UV map, assign textures, animate, assign geoset and normal animations, and lots of other stuff. To put a note to the end, 35$ is not much at all, when even >I< could buy it (and I am pretty much a broke, screw Serbia).

JPEG with alpha channel?! =)) hahaha you made my day man....first of all jpg's can't hold an alpha channel, secondly blp's are made from TGA's and thirdly BLP is a proprietary Blizzard image format made solely for their games, no other application is meant to work with them...Magos uses it 'cause its sole purpose is editing wc3 models, but really no one outside the wc3 modding community has ever heard of blp and doesn't much care about it, trust me.
