i voted if it is done right, but it sort of depends how you are using it.

locking the camera to a unit and rotating it by the units rotation while slanting the angle a bit can work pretty nicely if you adjust it right so it wont be a nuisance. the main issue with altered cameras is online delay so you just need to test it over and over with alot of adjustments until it works adequately online. a camera on single player will act alot different than with online players.

the bad part is the walking.. it's not that easy to walk around with those 3rd person cameras in wc3, if it's nice done then ok, but else, don't use them!

some nice would be some view over the shoulder of the unit, and from a bit higher angle with a good view area so it's easier to click and walk.. without turning again and again till you clicked right

1. When turning, the first person cam usually collides with trees, cliffs and such. It will be awesome to make a system that detects when would the camera collide and raise it.
2. The 1st person cams don't fit well with fast turning units. It makes me dizzy.
3. The 1st person cams need to combine well with the atmosphere of the map and the point of the map.

Despite these three REALLY common vices I love first person cams.
