3rd gathering recource?

Not like the same system as Gold and Lumber, im pretty sure u need to trigger it.

Using Intenger variable and some triggers, and a Multiboard you can make a "Oil" system for every player. I dont know how exactly but thats the way...

Or you can destroy food and make that oil instead... but thats a bad idea because its not the same system :)

Slaydon he wants a third resource, not changing an old one. i would also suggest using the multiboard combined with an integer variable and triggers. the difficult thing is checking if a player has enough of the resource to build, i'm not sure how you should manage that, maybe interrupt the production and giving the gold and lumber back. i guess someone has an idea on that

there's no problem for the 3rd resource, because warcraft3 already uses 3.. you just have to change them, use food as the third one, but you'll have to trigger some stuff to make it fully work, like place some mining ores somewhere and trigger the gather of that ores, and add food.. the only problem is in buying stuff with that, because food is permanent, if you use it for units, the resource will be reduced by lets say 3, and it regains that 3 points if the unit die, so you have to trigger this part too.. the only advantage of this is, that you can look up all 3 resources without using a multiboard..

if you're going to use more resources you'll need a multiboard for it, and I suggest, that you show all resources in that board, and change the common gold and lumber icons and texts with something other.. like the date, or game time, or kills, whatever.. just to get a better overview. I guess it's better if you just open the multiboard and all important information is given..

How about 6 more..

For Clan Dice's new game SectorS, I put together a multiboard with 6 new resources. It is tracked with arrays for each player.

Although, most of these resources are just commodities that are used for a specialized system of manufacturing within SectorS.

However, I did make uranium operate as a payable resource, When a unit is created it checks if a player has the correct amount of resources, if not it removes the unit, if the player does, then the unit is allowed to be produced.

I know that GOE2 has also done this, and each of there resources operated like another payable resource.

Check it out from Epicwar, its worth a play.

As for SectorS, we are doing intense testing, and a release date may be issued within the week.
