[1.26] How to make map bigger than 256x256 ?

As Wareditor said, you can use JNGP to bypass numerous limitations made by the original World Editor in older versions (1.26), like for example you can create a map bigger than 256x256, more tilesets, more doodads, vJASS support, etc etc. I think those features were already integrated in Reforged, along with Lua systems (more efficient than JASS/vJASS).

But word a warning: The game engine can only load a map properly if it's 256x256 or below. Maps with 480x480 might led to unwanted issues if you're playing as Undead (because you can't actually build structures even if you placed it within Blight radius) or with the computer players (because AI pathfinding system seems to be broken, leading to huge frame rate drops or spikes).

In the old days, people used JNGP to bypass that limit (and other ones).
Using an old JNGP (if you manage to make it run on your OS) should produce maps playable on older warcraft versions (1.26).

@Greedy Martyrdom

The best current tool for making maps compatible with the old version and the reforged version of WC3 is YDWE PK (World Editor). You can create 480 x 480 maps using this tool.
