And Fossil... at least give a better reason than "this blows the file size is massive and model sucks period". Be at least somewhat mature in your comments. "This blows" is only going to piss people off... though thats probably your goal.
 
You idiot, most models in warcraft 3 are around 100-200, this is fine. Thanks alot Rightfield, i think you should change them to the other elves


Edit: the textures are just really big, you can just shrink them
 
Let me reaffirm myself. This model is a 6/5 for sure. What I'm saying is that 1.52 MB is WAY to big. It makes it impossible to use for a B-net map. Most people have trouble when it gets to 1 MB, and if you add that to my map it becomes around 2.5 MB which is far to large for B-net. Blizzard indicates that B-net maps should be inbetwen 500-700 Kb before people start to lag.
 
Oh my god. That's all I can say, really. It looks and works great. I'm not really sure what to say about it. This is a lovely piece of art and even though it's not combinable with any standard race (-0,2) and the animations could be a bit better (-0,1), it really rocks. Only thing is that the filesize is really big...I know this is a small fee compared to the greatness of the model, but as someone pointed out before me, it's not always worth it to have LOTS of lag for just ONE building... Great job, though.

Can u plz create a Knight model? a model with a ''full helm'' so u cant see face.. like a swordman/captain face.. It is allready a good kinght model submitted on this site, but it dosnt have any Portrait so its useless for me.. Im sure many could need a new and cool knight model.. plz do it.. if not for u, do it for your contry.. :P :D
 
you guys can reduce the size greatly by compressing the skin blps at 25 instead of 75, saves ALOT o space of ANY models that are submitted (lets say for example a 171kb file gets compressed to 25kb...count your profit...). Knowing rightfield the skins are at a reso of 512x512...turning it into 256x256 also reduces alot
 
Afronight_76 I did not say maximum size. I said the RECCOMENDED SIZE by Blizzard (Which is in the dam help file) is 500-700 kb. Not many people are willing to dl a 4 MB map because A. They want to get playing NOW. B. They are impacient. C. Most people would then lag because they run AIM or Kazaa in the background or they have an old connection. Read next time.
 
I don't make skins smaller from the fact that I like it full quality. For those who want it smaller just do as cookie says and resize to half of the size. You should be able to do THAT yourself.

And to those model requests the ansver is NO. I don't do requests and I'm not going to begin doing it either, so stop asking.

Mines 20 :'(, im importing a crapload of other stuff, itll easily be 30-35 by tommorow

i expect it to be up around 100 by the time im done.

Omg thats Incredible model! One of the best ive seen, so many details, so perfect shapes! If i make an arabic city or place, that is perfect! I give you 12/10
 
I hope you guys know that the filesize of this model, fills out almost the half of how big a map may be to be played on battle.net..

So in fact, that guy really has a point in ''blowing the filesize''... And ye i know its long time ago since he wrote that but... i first saw it now xD... Flawless model anyway Rightfield. Almost all of your model has surprised me (:
 
Really nice model, but I think there's a problem.
Ingame the model doesn't look anything like the image you gave us. Has it been modified? Mine just has only 4 spires plus the middle one. Anyone?

The model has different stages, so its kinda like the
Tree of Life -> Tree of Ages -> Tree of Eternity

So the model in the pic is the same, only the final "form" in a way
If you flip through the different animations in the editor you'll see it right away
