HertoDLstuff:
I think it's really cute how you emphasize much
SO the only cinematic you could find to compare to mine were either : a) winning cinematic contestes, or b) made by users who have been making cinematics for the past 3-4 years.
I personally find it very flaterring that after a mere 3 weeks of WE i manage to be compared to the best that has been made in the last 5 years. Imagine me if i had the same time with the WE as the creators of the links you gave, or if i had a team making me custom models, making trrains for me. But no, i worked completely alone, and with 4 weeks of experience.
You say my story is bad. Do you make the same comments to cinematics that have no story what so ever? Or cine that are 2min long? How about the link in the stroy where a grp of ppl walks in a dark area, all get killed by 'teh undead' and that's it. Do you not think that stroy has been done a million times? But did you post in that cine to say so?
I personally don't find FX massing entertaining. I liked my variation: you had normal attacks (althougha bit too much, i agrre on that), some slow mo (or hair cutting, but you didn't see to mind it that much in another cine where the same chara was doing the same thing...), and some gigantic spells. There is room to improve, certainly. It's funny you mention my cara stands still when the BM is doing his attack. Well maybe he's tired from his previous failed spell? Maybe he's surpirsied and didn't know what to do? Or maybe he's so badass he know that spell won;t kill him, and it's not even worth dodging. Yet in another of your links a similar situation happens, a dude is shooting some motionless guys and they just die. Did you also post thre to say how that made their whole cine bad?
You also pay very little attention to music/sounds. In most cine's theyre was either no music, or unfitting music. You barely give me any credit for haveing my music perfectly match the actions, and also be very fitting to the momement, and a great variety too.
You focus and individual aspects of my cine, and emphasize how bad they are, yet you fail to see the 'whole picture', as in they're soo many elements and they're all tied up in one nice package (sounds, music, terrain, battle, drama, suspense = entertainment).
Thank you for your detailed review of my battle, and for your links. I will use your feedback to improve my next cine even more. Besides, you can't please everyone... and you seem the only one to actually dislike it
