Hello, @Tranquil! Thank you for making this model. Though, about the no-portrait thing, you should probably still add a file for it as the game can't actually auto-detect its "similar-looking" portrait in the game's files. It only detects whether a file of the same name with an added '_Portrait' at the end of the filename. 
A suggestion is to make more effort, maybe give him a different head, like one of the new High Elf hero units' faces in stead of the Emissary one. This is merely a simple edit because the only thing changed was the staff.
