  • Hey there. A while ago you encouraged me to keep working on my campaign RPG "Nameless - One Orc's Saga" even though it was rejected for some reason. Well, I've been working on it off and on since then, and Chapter I is about halfway finished. Just thought I'd let you know :)
MrBimbo, :cgrin: hahaha I like you! I still remember you as Hive's rebel! Well yeah I understand when people got tired of everything here. Stupid staff, abusers.... dramas everywhere
    Yo....Thx for your support.

Well, to answer your request, i actually don't really like to share with people my "secrets", but for you i'd make an exception. The secret to the right click is actually giving your unit a "rally" ability. Then in ur triggers, use event - "Unit is issued an order" and the condition "(issued order = 'smart')". It will work fine.

I won't tell you the rest of how the triggers work, because i believe that people should experiment on their own how to make things work. I gave you the starting point, the rest is for you to figure out. =)
arhg, you mean the cursor thingy. finished that along time ago! :]
but today i have my last school day so ill upload it tomorrow :b
Its not my map, its CloudWolfs, im just like hes "second hand". Many people think im the owner of the map :|
When we are many people working on the map at the same time, we only do stuff that easily can be copy pasted over maps. And you can do that in almost everything expect terrain. So when he is done with the spells, he just copy paste the triggers and spells over to the original map.
Well man I do not think people can spam in visitor messages. They can be punished. However you can double/triple post and not all rules implement to visitor messages. As far I know there aren't specific rules about visitor messages. However we talk our languages too in profile messages.
Oh you are welcome man! It's nothing much! i only agreed with you two!
And in that thread you only fight for your rights. Yeah as many people did last year in September/october
Wow, is that really how it works? Very lame. Honestly, I have very little incentive now to continue my campaign. Takes too much time anyway.
i also know MrBimbo that the maps are not deleted because as you had said you can access them by bookmarks. I have habit of making bookmarks of the maps i am currently playing so i can easily access them. So even when some of the maps have been rejected i can easily access them though i can't post on them.
Also i would like to see moderator's reply to the last para because i had done a little thinking before supporting you. Taking the appropriate lines and using the words was a problem but finally i found i little solution to that.
Thanks for appreciating that mail. Also i have added a little more to the post to make the argument better.

"i totally had a WTF moment": What does WTF means?sorry if a common abb.
i not mean the look, but the gameplay, quality and etc etc.. if those gameplay, quality and etc etc is bad... it was partically worthless.
able to attract user are not sufficient enough.

vgsatomi and firelord213 have give comment about your map, try view My Rejected Map
Is not to discourage you or whatever it was, but to point out the importance of keeping everything it tip top shape.

Considering it was at 3.0, I am sure it have gone through a tremendous update. Keep up with the work, optimize the coding and I am sure it would earn approval soon.

Your map was a zombie genre map, it face a tough competition with the other, so don't let your effort die in vain without the lack of dedication.

Wish you best of luck out there. If I do not seen the effort you pour at your map (Referring to the update), I probably won't be given at further advice to you.

Visitor message support up to 1,000 word only. I had to make it in separate message.
If a map was bad, people would play it in less than 5 minutes and then delete it. I am sure you have seen plenty of map which have certainly face such a disaster.

With a high amount of download in a matter of 2 day, there is a few reason to it. For example, user click the download link several times due to slow internet line which could generally increase the number of download. Another example would be the map been bump to the front pages most of the time, user would usually download map at first 1-4 pages rather at back.

1 of the fine example of a good map would be Diablo 3 by Cloudwolf, it was a example of a map with high download rate with most of the vote and comment have positive opinion over it.

I also recommend you to set those changelog of each version of your map in hidden mode or tag to make the description look better and pleasant to view at. It was an eyesore to view the entire changelog at this moment.
That would be 5th chances, considering he had review it twice, me once, vgsatomi once and firelord213 once.. and it seems like he is in generous mood considering the first review was reject.

Although he doesn't like it at general, but it doesn't mean the file size doesn't included at the general term as well. You probably don't know about this, but Rui doesn't support a high file size either.

And having 3 out of 4 staff telling you about the unacceptable file size should had send you a clear message regarding about it.

Having 100 download in just 2 day is nothing to sneeze at if it doesn't appeal to the people itself shall the map doesn't meet the necessary criteria such as good gameplay and balance.
it seems like your music version was generally rejected by the other 2 mod. And rui doesn't like the non-music version either.
Thats good personally i believe file size is one of the most important things in a map otherwise its hard to get people to DL on Bnet
Heya MrBimbo you could always try to lower the quality of the music just a little bit and that will decrease the music size by alot. or find an earlier time in the piece to loop it. Other then that nice RE map.
Septimus isn't a moderator anymore either. I think the only ones left are DSG and Rui. Maybe VGSatomi, but he's not around much.
    Thanks? :p
Sorry, but I don't have Map Moderation power anymore. Rui demoted most of us.
D= I don't recall you saying visitor message. I thought a PM was okay to do, but I don't know. You did not remind me the last time you commented back so I guess you forgot too =P.

I know that, and my computer is not excellent either. It just puzzles me because I have never seen this problem occur. And if weird and unusual things happen, I usually tend to lean on the fact that it's my computer that is messed up if I'm the only one having the problem. I don't know. Makes sense to me.

Hmm, yeah I realize now they can expand but even so, I took the copy from the website and hosted it. Still worked. I always make sure my games are robust before I post.

Yes, I realized that. That's why I created two versions of that map. I was just unlucky I guess because the day I happened to decide to test if everyone prefered the music version over the non music version, you were checking up on maps. Back before then, I NEVER had music in my map for that particular map page. Instead, I created a separate map with music inside it, but I don't know where it is now.

Okay, I'll try shooting for 3.5 mb instead of 3.9 from now on.

By bombing you, I meant like, I'm not trying to be mean or anything =( but I don't know, you seem a bit irritated with me right now >.< im sorry! D=

Okay I'll talk to Rui... but uhh how does visitor messaging work? Where do I go to? (are we using visitor messaging right now?) The only thing I was taught was to PM people and to PM moderators too =\ so I'm sorry for PMing you. People from bnet and forums tell me to PM mods if I have a problem.

Oo okay. Yeah I don't know. But seriously, I'll take out the music and only post the music version on epicwar.com, then leave the nonmusic version on hiveworkshop =\. I think that would work the best. This way, I can get my map back (I'll upload the nonmusic as SOON as I can) and then the bandwidth will be 1mb! =D. Does that sound good? =\. and yeah, I know you had a reason, but iono I think I said it before but like, I guess it was just very unlucky that my map wouldn't host at the time your friend tried. I'm not saying it's your fault. If I was a moderator who had maps and maps piled up on me, I'd probably do the same thing. Well... maybe I would notify the person first to lower the bandwidth or else face removal... BUT I'm a different person than you are xD. Soo, back to my idea:
I'll never upload the music version on hiveworkshop
I'll remove the current music version that's posted on hiveworkshop
And then when you "unreject" my map, I'll update it into the nonmusic version =).
This way, the bandwidth will be 1.01 MB (I actually checked xD)
And this will meet hiveworkshop's standards!!
Download speeds are quick too =).
Do you think this is a good idea?
How many times did I need to tell ? If you have anything to talk to me, you should have post it at my visitor message instead of private messaging. Private messaging is only for extremely important matter.

Second, not everybody have a excellent computer like you does and there is something called technical problem would occur just like you have said.

Third, files could have it size slightly increase or reduce when it been upload to a site. If you are good mapper, you would have possibly predict this and took an action to reduce the files size even better, or greater.

Fourth, a good mapper would ensure something called as Net friendly by having their map size at lower size as possible depends on the amount of player.

Just take a look at my multiplayer map, the possible highest size is just 3.5mb but it still net friendly as it only playable by 2 player. So only 1 player need to download it and the download time could only took a 1-2 minutes and could be play right away.

Fifth, if you do not try to bomb me. You would not been repeating the same thing at least 3 times.

Sixth, if you think I am not being fair about this bandwidth. Ask Rui to review it or post it at wc3campaigns.net to see if you're right or I am wrong about this part.

Seventh, in case you forgot. Most of the moderator check quality before bug, but I check bug before quality. If I reject it, I do reject it with valid reason.
Umm... yes? Wow you don't remember going through this? We found out that for some reason when your friend hosted, his bnet couldn't host my map. But when you yourself and I hosted it on bnet, we were talking at hive chat at the time, the map worked perfectly.
Yes I have read the terms before, but I do not read it every single time I upload a map... and I don't think anyone does. and yes, I did in fact double and even triple checked that it indeed works. I even downloaded the same map that was rejected and hosted that same map on bnet. Guess what. It worked fine. And you hosted it yourself too. (Remember the time on hive chat?) I seriously thought we sorted this out that there was some confusion with your friend's computer and it was indeed not my fault.

Yes I am a good mapper. I was positive to make sure the bandwidth met bnet standards and it did indeed meet them. For some odd reason, your friend's computer does not like my map. Do not blame it on me. There is nothing I can do. I have done all of the necessary things to ensure it works. And like I said, I even hosted it plenty of times that night to ensure robustness was well.

Okay, Look I do not think you are strict. I don't have anything against you. I just want to get over this argument which I thought we already cleared up. If you still do not believe that the map WILL NOT host on bnet, PM me when you are free and I'll get on with you to host it. If it does work then promise me that you will "unreject" my map. If it does not work for some odd reason, I will stop talking about this and get on with life. It's none of us's fault. There's some technical issue that is bothering us and we should get mad at that, not each other. Hope to see you soon ^^.
Lol, are you sure you were awake during your conversation? I did check the size of my map. And we did prove that my map size was in fact, suitable for B.Net because you even tried it yourself. Remember the little chat about how I hosted that exact same map on BNet many times on bnet?

Please, get your facts straight. And since when has Hiveworkshop turned into a strict uploading map site? We are just people and we are not perfect. We do not have jobs to make games on WC3. I'm just a kid, so why are you guys being so mean? D=. And stop rejecting maps for false reasonings (like mine).

Do you know that file could be corrupted or have it's file size increase upon upload ?
For your information, there is a lot of reason that could possibly cause the file size to be increase or unplayable at wc3. For example, vexorian optimizer could make a cinematic map trigger unable to function (I don't know why, but it have happen a few times to me).

We're strict against bugged resources, we have the rejection system for purpose.
You're the one who need to get your facts straight to the point, if you cannot accept rejection. You should not have post your resources at this site.

Even my resources does not spare from rejection if it was bugged/crash wc3. For your information, 1 of my resources almost get rejected by Firelord213 due to the massive lag (Cause by the bullet effect) which I fix it instantly.

Anyway, upon upload your resources. You already click the tick box that indicate you would adhere to the site rules and respect moderator decision. So, who else for you to blame, but yourself for not reading it ?

If you could not watch your map bandwidth when you're making a multiplayer map, you ain't suitable to be a mapper.

A good mapper would always ensure their map bandwidth at the lowest size as possible, free of bug, efficient coding, working hotkey and etc etc. The only biggest obstacle for mapper most of the time could only be balancing. Apart from that, it could possibly be coding.

If you think I am strict, you should have ask Rui to review your map. By then, maybe you would know who is the most generous map mod/admin you could possibly have.

Just take a look at rating 4 and 5 map. See if you could find any mod/admin that are far more lenient than I do.
Map section are going through a tremendous change over this past few days. My power have been remove by Rui for this moment. Till then, I have no authority over this part.
