It wouldnt be too simple. Rather, it would be extremely complicated, and probably have a steep learning curve. We also already have the GUI Spell System which sort of does that. I recommend you look into that.
I love the GUI spell system, but sometimes I find myself having to write some JASS for stuff that isn't a spell, so that's where the idea to create something more modular comes from.
Well, if you don't think it will be too simple, then I guess in the end I'll post it on the Spell Section. I'll do my best to have it as user-friendly as possible, I've already thought of a "plug-and-play" solution that will hopefully work.
Thanks!
Well the problem with your idea is that you're going to split the community up even more. We already have people who either: write the data structure themselves, or use GUI Spell System.
To be honest, we have too many systems that do a lot of cool things, but have insane learning curves. It would be better to see submissions (spells) using the systems to serve as examples of how to use them.
Hmmm, I guess that's true. I think the problem is people think submitting a spell using a lot of systems might make their work seem too simple unless they create something that is visually impressive. So most of the creations using the systems aren't made publicly available.
For example, I haven't seen anyone posting a spell that uses my stun system or any other one for that matter, but I've gotten a few messages from people who were using it and wanted help. And I code all my map's spells using the Spell System, but I usually make visually simple spells but with somewhat specific mechanics that would only make sense in my map.
People might also be scared of flooding the Spell Section, which is why I'm asking you here before uploading something too simple. Would be nice if someone made some kind of big spellpack in 1 map that has many use cases for systems, especially Bribe's GUI stuff.
