Chronowalk


Overview


THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS!

Enter Chronowalk!

Do not be fooled — it is not as simple as Blink. Gosh, I wish it really is that simple. Well, this is supposed to be a wholesale replacement of the normal movement. Even when attacking enemies, the Chronowalker has to teleport all the way to chase them. Oh, and before I forget, the unit will get stunned and frozen in time after long leaps.

Chronowalk can instantly teleport a unit to the target destination, but stuns the unit for a moment until they re-enter the time stream completely. The longer the jump, the longer it takes for the unit to fully reform, exposing them haplessly to enemy attacks.

Oh, and of course, you can edit this spell and also spawn variations of it for your own mapping needs! Like, you can make one variant that allows teleporting to shrouded areas, for example.​

Inspiration


One awesome playthrough of Reality Check has left me feeling very inspired! All the cat-and-mouse teleport trickeries have been very awesome. The mission's entire gameplay also reminds me strongly of Warcraft III, too.

Meanwhile, Warcraft III already has some blue-colored teleport sheningans like Mass Teleport, Staff of Teleportation and Scroll of Town Portal. Daffa has also remade the Area Chronoshift and the Chrono Gun, but one thing remains missing.

Yep, it's the individual unit teleportation. And it's what made Reality Check so wonderfully awesome!

Thus, yep, this is how the idea of Chronowalk came to be.

Perhaps in the distant future, I may also consider other chrono sheningans and other game mechanics from Mental Omega, Genshin Impact and elsewhere too.​
