I love the colour palette. You could use the "dark desert" from barrens or "grassy dirt" from lorderon fall to add some variation to the "light dirt" tiles perhaps as a path or dried riverbed.
Thanks for the suggestion. I did the test with tiles of a similar tone to complement, but they gave a very marked contrast that did not quite convince me. I opted to keep these tiles a bit darker than the others and illuminate with omnilights.
