@deepstrasz damn,
when i first checked the wikipedia page after a DDG search about a game you mention to him (kellym0) while reading the comments here;
Monster Party, 1989; man, 30 years old isn't it even?
lol you think the ogre is lost hey, well, turns out he has a few animations, including using his foot to ''kick'' which is hilarious. he doesn't swim though, no swim animations. im trying to find some for him, but for now hes land locked like abominations and footmen. a land predator. he is just meant to be a fast large scary chaser player choice with lots of health. I selected him because I have always liked the warcraft3 ogre sound sets, so since I have those sound sets available, i've decided to create him as an option, the sounds/portrait of the warcraft3 ogre but on the body of the wow ogre inside sc2, I think its a great idea. im currently looking for a blue skin for him, and perhaps a way to delete his weapon, so I could make a blue ogre magi version, which could be cool. remember, this shows all the predators, but with only 3 chaser players, you'd never see this many at one time.
I also have yet to start the spider and pitlord/doomgaurd predators. the more large monster I find the more choices (and unit data lol uhg)
yes, fast, thats the joke he looks really fat and has a really, really slow acceleration time, like battle cruisers, but once given a chance to move he increases his speed very slowly into a full gallop which will be terrifyingly fast. hes also fat. so he will have insane health. and he uses his club in 3 different ways, a downwards single strike, a left to right swing/right to left swing, and a ''stabby'' animations (but its a club so it looks silly, probably more for a spear or sword) then he also kicks things so its just hilarious, absolutely hilarious. special thanks to taylor mouse for the awesome ogre.
yes, theoretically you can create custom sound sets, by importing what ever you decide to record/manipulate your self, as small clips, small mp3 files, once imported you need to save/close/reopen ur map in the editor but after that yes you can put your own custom sound sets into the units actor data, by changing the sound sets manually. it takes a while, but its how I imported entire units sound set collections such as the flame tank or fanatic from cnc, and the chaos havocs sound sets from dow2. I ultimately removed those sounds from my maps before uploading them to bnet for...reasons...
but yes you can do it, I just really like the warcraft3 ogre sound set even if the models trash.
