Honestly I'm not sure if the style fits to Warcraft. Amount of detail, color palettes and general style feels much more eastern-style MMO. Quality of assets is phenomenal, as HoS always deliver, but creative direction probably diverges too much from Warcraft feel.
It's kind of ironic, considering its overdetailed armor mostly uses recycled Tyrande's jewelry and Nightbourne stuff. Besides, these two are absolutely huge unique entities.
In terms of colors, all Shadow Elves have this style, so they won't stand out.
So hopefully couple of those would eventually blend in in the end won't break the general vibe. So far I think HoS2 dances on the edge between being WoW and HoS itself and does so very well. I don't think it needs "asian MMO" style influences.
Aye, I see what you mean, and thanks) HoS Act 2 ramps model and texture detail up even compared to Act I, and Shadow Elves are intended to be excessively ornate and intricate, but as I said, all that overdtailed stuff is based on Blizzard's designs more often than not (forgot to mention that HotS "spooky" Maiev skin provided LOTS of bits to be used on SE, all those spider figurines, horns etc). We used converted non-Warcraft stuff as bases for model, but just like with "bare" WoW models, only after lots and lots editing to make them fit the general style and blend in with mainstream models.
