How can I get Syphon Mana to target allys?

Everytime I want to use the syphon mana effect I have to creat a dummy unit and make him an enemy of the casting unit, then tell casting unit to target him.

If I could get this spell to target allies then I wouldnt even need a dummy unit and it would be so much easier, can anyone help? Is this posible?

Go to Advanced -> Gameplay Constants. Check the option that says something like "Siphon can Transfer Mana".

After this you just need to make it so the spell itself is able to target allies (I dunno what the difference is between "Allied" and "Friend", so I just go with 'em both).
