I think I like this one better. Try and work on defining the body behind the armor some. I also think its way too bright which distracts the eye from the focus of the icon which is the shoulder piece. when shading the shoulder piece, apply shading as though it is part of a 3d sphere to get more roundness and to give it a bit more 3d lighting. Right now it looks as though everything has a different light source.
Here i only focused on the shoulder pad to demonstrate the lighting. I only used the brush tool because it allows me direct control over what colors and shades im using, then i zoom out and adjust brightness and contrast to taste.
Edit: also, might wanna zoom in more on the shoulder pad to allow for more detail and focus the icon on the subject better kinda like these examples:
