Explain: Enemies Spawn in inaccessible areas making them hard to kill.
Reason: Location Spawning
Solution: Added Pathing Blockers and should not happen anymore.
Try using sword spin to attack enemies that spawn in difficult areas.

Known Bugs [Game Breaking]

Explain: In dungeons Doors don't open when enemies are killed

advice: dont call it alpha and upload it here, the rules say unfinished maps such as alphas mustnt be uploaded here, will be rejected and deleted. many posts of people saying the same like me now contained that you should visit mapper forum here and upload and test there.
however i'll test it

do me a favor pls rebuy any version of zelda and redo the whole map
from square-to-square system upto skills of the hero, zelda is evasion based, not autohit...
add messages, signs and so on, black mask, camera lock and so on
for now this cant be called alpha...

well pls remind that zelda is a plain game, so the terrain hasnt to be too exciting, and as he said the doodads are still missing, but i aggree that some parts really are not very well made
if this game was more zelda-like the terrain wouldnt have to be too nice, but for a normal wc3 non-locked camera with no visual particularities its poor...

@Beta-Force : Thank you, i wont upload the map here again till it's finished.
@DEMIGOD: Sorry for no screenshots
@Beta-Force: This is a {Loose} re-imagination of the game, also since this is the first version at all, everything is subject to change including the abilities, some options are in there now just so it provides some form of entertainment and not be so dull, for ex. Items will not be abilities they will just be items in the future, as well as items being in different dungeons etc etc.
The purpose of this release is to test the triggers and etc etc, the release now is so i can continue to finish the map with the least amount of problems possible.

@chilla_killa: By unacceptable do you mean the basic layout? or the fact that everything is in squares.
@buraxia3: Understood
@Beta-Force:Also, Some of the enemies are direct hit, some of them used ranged attacks with are not area of effect, the fact that both of these enemies exist is to know who to engage under what situation and so forth,

*Sigh*... Another Zelda map that has disappointed me. We need a mod to recreate OOT and MM =), and dazzle in some multi player, and link the two so you can bring your items on through.

^ Do that, and I'll probably just rep any post you do and be satisfied for around 6 months.

Also make it so it is very difficult, increasing the difficulty even higher the more players.

ok i will give u a short reimagination of zelda with some tips to improve your map.

the hero himself has X hearts a half life is the minimum amount to exist. you can only get a full new hart, no parts (but collect parts to form a new)
every enemy drains 1/2 up to 1 life when hit, basic units drain 1/2 or 1 life but effects like explosions drain 1-3 life. every trap drain 1 life
found hearts restore life equal 1, three or all hearts the hero has

the camera normally is bound to the current square. lock camera to squares and black-mask all other squares

square based like you did. but pls improve your system delete all parts and move unit instantly to the next square if you reach the end of another one.
the whole side can be used to get to the next square, not only one small path or part of it.

3 kinds of monsters exist:
1. randomized - they walk and shoot randomly around. if they are not ranged they shouldnt be touched (from the front or side or without any exceptions)
2. direct charge - monsters that run to you to hit you, they move slower than you or you are able to evade them only critical when they surround you
3. direct spell or item usage - they dont run to you but they try to get in range to cast/throw something like bombs or something else

monsters can have weaknesses and strenghts. like shields protect against ranged weapons or some are immune against swords but weak against frie attacks or ranged ones

things like grass can be destroyed to find items.

3 types:
1. consumables - hearts, new heart, rupees, keys*
2. improvement items - new effects for the hero (such as rings) giving mor damage on sword attack and so on
3. other items - boomerang bombs** etc. they dont give damage bonus, your strongest weapon is your sword (except for bombs but you have to aim and time the bomb), but they help you to get to new places (feather) or to reach enemies or levers (ranged attacks)

type one can be found off dead units except for new hearts or new heart, pieces thos can only be dropped by bosses or they are hidden
type two can be found off special units e.g. minibosses, chests
type three can be found doing the storyline, itmems that are a must to go on
*keys fit in third type, bound to storyline, used to open chests and doors in temples, the last key to be found is a special boss key (one per temple)
**bombs also count into the consumable section, can be dropped by normal creeps

can only be improved by getting new hearts, find better swords or category 2 items to improve battle effectiveness
can wield and use only one weapon or item at a time
direction, weapon, range to enemy, and timing adjust how much damage (or if some is dealt)
multiple enemies can be hit with swords
the character has to evade all hits, and projectiles because of his low life

riddles are more often then challenges. basic goal is to find all keys to get the boss key, every temple has one miniboss (those can - not have to - drop type 3 items). most type 3 items are found off chests. most ways overlap so the difficulty is it to find the right way and solve the riddles not to beat the miniboss or the creeps.
bosses have at least to phases, those repeat after a short amount of time

pls add houses and so on there are npc's givinh itmes or tips or even quests to get te next type 3 item
entering or leaving something resets all creeps (except for bosses/minibosses)

be shure to have a storyline with quest. at the beginning, you cant go everywhere, new quests or type 3 items grant acces to new areas (e.g. ability to swim to get to an island)
you always start near a town

there are many causes to die, add a revive system wich reduces rupees, resets temples except for bosses and minibosses. items that schouldnt be farmed shouldnt be farmed ;) best is to be revived in (last) town

i hope i could help a bit
and btw dont see the sense of multiplayer, its not meant to be such game

^ Your items are very pointless, if you're trying to make the creator make it MORE like Zelda, why would he have pointless rings that increase his damage? Exactly...

I also said the Multiplayer bit because I've beaten it on single player and I'd like to enjoy it with friends online, etc... Linking the two maps so you can load your Hero's "Rank" would be a lot of fun and make MM even harder so that those levels won't really effect much.

Also the temples, it was more about the Puzzles, such as having to reduce the water, so you could get the first key, raising it so you could do this... Etc...

in the version i played ther were such rings. increasing damag of swords but also damage u got. or range of bombs. or that they cant explode in your hand
its not pointless, its just a solution for the free inventory space...
sry my english isnt so great but cant u call this riddle too? i mean u have to understand what you are doing and guess a bit sometimes

Review Time #23

CWeener's Review {Protected maps} V3.04 Review # 23

Reviewing the map "Zelda: The Adventure of Link"

Rating System (in weener points:)

1-10 Originality
1-10 Replayability (discounted for most cinematics*)
1-10 Triggering (discounted for protected maps*)
1-10 Terraining
1-10 Object Managing (custom items and destructibles etc...)
1-10 Spells (if applies**)
1-10 Description (On THW and In-game (Loading Screen and information))
1-15 Engaging a.k.a. fun to play
1-15 Misc (size, system implementation, laginess etc...)
-100 or +100 for abiding by THW rules.
* = when one is discounted then other sections maximums are raised, and those sections are judged harder (if your map applies then it will show you what i raised later)
** = some maps dont really need spells so this section is discounted and given an automatic 10.
Rating System Scores

Less than 100 = FF- (Reported, You clearly didnt abide by all of the posting rules, and i have reported you for (not) doing so.)
100-150 Points = F- (Rancid and Needs major work. Vote for Rejection and no +rep.)
151-160 Points = F (Bad and Needs work. vote for Rejection and no +rep.)
161-170 Points = D (Below Average and Needs much updating. has potential. vote for rejection and no +rep.)
171-180 Points = C (Okay but Needs updates. has potential. vote for rejection* and no +rep.)
181-190 Points = B (Good but still not reaching full potential vote for approval but no +rep)
191-199 Points = A (Great and probably has reached full potential**. good job. vote for approval and +rep.)
200 Points = A+ (Amazing, you did everything right and went all out, approval and +rep)

* = depending on the map really, and what categories it scored low in
** = not always but most cases.
Zelda: The Adventure of Link

Triggering scores not available, so other maximums were raised(see rating system*)

1-11 Originality *8* while this map has unique aspects, it's main concept has been done on occasion.
1-11 Replayability *2* Boring, not complete.
1-11 Terraining *3* Custom grass was about all I liked here. No doodads.(almost) No hills. No tile merging.
1-11 Object Managing *6* Well work was done I suppose.
1-11 Spells *5* Bugfree. Unoriginal and unpractical however.
1-11 Description *7* gives adequate information in a boring way.
1-17 Engaging *2* I teared up here.
1-17 Misc *12* First good score, but there was still the fact that
-100 or 100 Rules *-100* This is not complete.
0-200 All-in-all *45* FF- (Reported, You clearly didnt abide by all of the posting rules, and i have reported you for (not) doing so.)
