Some of you probably had this issue once or twice..

To keep the story short: I do own a legal version of Microsoft, purchased in a store by my old man. But, yet somehow the message appeared on my screen.

Before you go start figuring out how I must solve this or link me to the Microsoft site, I figured out a way to..

..Let's just say "bypass" the issue.

I'd be happy to post the tutorial any time later if it is legal, in the staff's perspective.
I find it not illegal since you only change some files.

That most claims (90%) by that Windows 'program' are not true and therefore you must always be on your guard?

seems a good idea. Can you be more specific about the problem to solve? You caught my attention. o.o

The problem is basicly registering and proving that you own a legal copy of Windows (XP) and it allows you to enjoy Microsoft's software updates and such. When Microsoft detects you do not own a legal version (unless proven to be legal), Microsoft stops giving you any new updates aside critical updates.

Etc.

When solved:
- It removes the popup when logging in on your computer.
- It allows you to use any background picture, instead of that black one.
- It removes that weird 'popup' above your clock.
- It removes err.. the .exe from the task manager and from the bar next to your clock?...
