Why do monkes knife fight?

To answer your question; resources. Humans require resources and land in order to populate, pollute, desecrate, and then abandon. After despoiling a given area they move on to another. Now that the hairless monkeys you resemble are more "civilized" you stay in one place, rolling about in your own filth.

Knifes are the weapons of choice for melee combat as they are quick and easy to use and very deadly if properly wield. A quick jab can net some "hard earned" cash thus allowing the monkey to continue to live for a few more days.

Humans are nothing but monkees, thus I am explaining why monkeys (humans) knife fight.
 
Also because our teeth arent that sharp and even if they were our jaws arent the right shape to take a killer bite out of someone. The only other way to kill someone would be with fists and kick but without training thats hard. So we use whats around us and swords are better than rocks and sticks. Unless its a really pointy stick...
