Why is it that Every! Single! Forum! I ever visited as long as I can remember has a useless thread EXACTLY THE SAME AS THIS ONE?!

What's the bloody point? Is there some sort of psychological value in the choice of wallpaper I missed? Somesort of deeper meaning to the way you place your icons on the desktop? CRRFRSTFTFTSSTFTTCTSFT!!
