Weapon Model

First I'm gonna thank whoever considers making my request. Thank you guys, lot of the models you put in the sections are beyond awesome!


I'm in the need of a simple staff model. Jaina's unit model has a good staff. Something like that. If you don't know how Jaina's staff looks like, here is an image of it:

I need a staff like that but with two minor (or major, idk I'm not a modeler) changes:

* - The crystal at the top of it needs to be bigger
* - The crystal needs to change color according to player color ingame

That's it. I don't know if its complex or not, but if you can do it I will credit you in all ways possible.

Hm, ok then - how about an already made model? Would that work?

Also, if I was to make a model myself or edit Jaina for instance - how would I add the player colors to her weapon?

Of course it's possible.
You just have to use the Fountain of Life Heal Aura ability for attaching the effect. Then the TC will appear correctly.
I don't know why it is, it's very strange, but it works.

-> Now don't use like mentioned there the Armor Bonus ability, but the Life Regenerating Aura of the Fountain of Life (I don't know how it is really called)

Well, for the model, you could make your own staff scratch made by using a modelling program. Or you could cut off the staff of Jaina and add Team Colour to the crystal.

The question is if you want to learn modelling, which is not the most difficult thing, but takes some time, or you don't want it and let someone else make it.

I can cut the weapon model from Jaina, I learned through trial and error how to do that, and I followed some tuts to perfect that skill to a degree so that I don't have to do everything three times

But I have no logical explanation how player colors work, so even if I cut the weapon from Jaina it wouldn't satisfy my need for such a crystal. This is where I need most of the help. The crystal enlargement is just finesse to make the staff look better and show team colors better.

I'm willing to learn. And few simple steps would be great.

EDIT: Many thanks for finding the model I can use that instead of removing it myself.

if you want to make it have a team color, i'll do it, but it'll need an alpha layer, so you'll need to make a new texture OR use team colored particle emmiter

You might as well save a few screenshots because I also wanna learn how you did it and what you used.
