Its rather painful to see such a good design go to waste. but yes it is closing down i just looked. i rather liked the new design that they had placed there, i imagine that it would have taken a while to get it to that stage and only to be closed down. i say 1 minute rememberance for them ............................................................ okay thats 1 dot per second and theres 60 dots so thats my minute. Anyway lets hope thqat the same sticky end doesnt happen here.

Yes VG you are correct. They were doing fine, and once Draco thought about upgrading Wc3c. The upgrading was taking too long (few months), and most of users left the site. After upgrading partially done, the only user left on this site was Tim. That's my history of Wc3c ;]

Hmmmm if anything we will only get more (poor moderators more people to tell how to behave) but it can only help the popularity of this site, the main problem is the bandwidth if it is unlimited i dont know but it will increase the bandwidth thus it might cause more problems but you never know. I dont think and i dont hope that anything BAD will happen because this site is evermore improving because of the great team of mods, super mods, admin, etc and i hope that this site will last as long as it can.

Yeah, actually because of bookmarks I wouldn't have noted this if I didn't read this post. heh

Btw, the first dead of the site was Draco's fault, but it was going to be all right . Bad luck with what happened with stoned's access to hosting possibilities. Just after what happened with the site because of Draco.

Well doesn't matter, at least wc3c lasted more time than warcraft III itself, needless to say that it has lasted more than the other sites which are relatively young

Bummer, now only if I had a place to move my spells to, well I think it was all about time to banish them from the surface of earth too

You can have a subdomain on my server if you want; feel free to PM me.

I'm older than my dad, and he's still alive!

wc3c was there on RoC beta times, and it is a completelly accepted FACT that war3 's gameplay died on December 2004, (now only some custom maps continue being played)

To everyone:

No I don't want any hosting yet, In fact I am starting to think that it will be better to just forget the spells

noooo, vexorian i love your spells dont get rid of them. I personally think that the slow end of Wc3c was when it had been redone because people didnt want to put up with it. I personally think the Custom Map gaming of WC3 is dieing off as almost every map out there is the same thing. All that is hosted are TDs, AOS's, Footie Style and Hero Arenas

Calm down.

It has always been the same types of maps played on Bnet, cause bnet players are usually idiots, there are lots of other maps, the average noob is just to stupid to play anything but DotA.

It is true that some persons area leaving battle.net, it is also true that some persons are leaving modding, but it isn't enough to call it dying.

I'm so tired of people saying that wc3 is dying, when it isn't. I agree with Vex that the melee map gameplay is dead and have been it long though.
_______________

This is sad, I've never posted much at wc3c, but it was a great site and tons of useful stuff :(.

Exactly. But I understand the people that only plays dota, of course they stops playing wc3, if dota was the only part of my "wc3 life", as others have called it, I would've left wc3 after 8 minutes.

Dota freaks leaving bnet just means space for good maps.

Well there is almost allways about 2.000 playing a normal Melee ladder game all day long, thats still alot so wouldent really call that dead either.

And why is it you people keep saying that it is only dota being hosted? Have you even looked at the game list lately? Yeah theres maybe allways about 4-5 dotas on it but then theres also the 10-15 other maps hosted, so calling that only dota games being hosted is a lie.

@raging: Well, you're right, but I don't like the other maps either. A part of the problem is that when you host some quality, they always have to compare it with dota and say that they prefer dota, whereafter they leave the game.

Well that ofc depends what type of maps you play :)

As I mostly play mazes and Minigames I never get any complains about it not being like Dota :p

As I'm a spell maker, I prefer maps with custom spells. That means that I mostly play hero arenas (I prefer my own and Vexorian's), rpgs (but there isn't really any good multiplayer RPG I know, so in fact I don't play rpgs anymore) and aos maps (again, most of these maps sucks, I love B&B though, but it is very rarely hosted).

Yes, the down of WC3C is a lot to absorb.

Its just a shame; I have much MUCH forum software knowledge and MySQL Coding skills. Something could be done. A new forum brought online with a giant data dump of users and posts could bring the giant site online and fully working.

I think Draco just want to give up at this point; I do not think its because its bugged or because of the problems.

Man, wish I could just take it over and repair/rebuild the databases back in. However, since half the users left.....

IS IT WORTH IT?... It could be an additional PR Class 5 with revanue. Hummm ina humina humm...

So either everyone migrates to the other communities, or they give up all together.

I think this here will become the largest (and slowest, man..FFS) community sites. We also have our home too, but no where near the vast MDL, W3X and other knowledge it containted.

>>>No I don't want any hosting yet, In fact I am starting to think that it will be better to just forget the spells

You can't do that until you build a full blown 'Vexorians Spells' page on the Tutorial Site :) You know I want it. A full out PHP page dedicated soley to you. What do you say? You might give up spells all together; but let the legend live on - and let people make better maps, using your resources to light the path.

Hmmm i didnt say that it was the only thing but as for 4 - 5 i saw about 10-12 games at the one time (us.west) but theres many many maps that i try to find and it never works. another reason i dont play DotA is because some of the people that play it expect others to be either complete noobs or they are pros (im neither cause i dont play it) and when you say that your new to it the go and bitch to the other people.

I must disagree... dota takes some skills and some dotas are really nice done and fun to play. And RPG's for Warcraft mostly suck, don't have resurrection system and are boring. The best RPGs were for Starcraft. There was really a problem to make custom abilities (o_O).
