It could be a permissions issue (you can try running it as administrator). YobGul's converter works by directly reading the game.dll to make conversions.

But in general, I recommend using Guesst's MDLX Converter:

The MDX format has mostly been discovered, and Guesst's converter will work on the majority of models (i.e. any model that wasn't designed by BlinkBoy to break those kinds of tools).
