How would you attach the team color to the wagon? Any specific paths?

Team coloured glow for attaching to blood elf wagon "chest"..

attach it to "chest"...................

The model seems to be interesting, just theirs not much use for it.
(Time-Periodic Event-0.01 seconds-Actions:Move RedBallDummy to-P w/Offset- 25 towards unit facing)
(Same w/ -25 instead)

glow bones are not in the center of the planes, se the glow stays behind the wagon..
if you want to make this with triggers, you'll need a TC model and do some trigonometry

if you import this model (3kb) you won't need to calculate anything, so performance won't be affected..
