I'm using fraps, and i need to compress it's size!

I'm using Virtual Dub to compress it...[And resize it]
but i can't seem to resize it, it gives an error and says that video might be corrupted, but it isn't

Compressions are good, from 3 gigs to 27 mb

can someone give me a better codec other than XviD or DvIX?
can someone give me the best setting for Xvid(cant seem to use DvIX)?

Good on ya for using Virtual Dub, best video manipulation program out there:goblin_good_job:

Anyway, normally I try out a few different codecs and see which does the job right. I recommend getting a codec pack so you can snoop around and see which works best. Just searching "codec pack" on Download.com will give you plenty of results. I'd give you the link of the one I use (which I don't think is special, all I know is that it works), but I can't remember where I got it.

As for the best setting for XviD... it really does depend, doesn't it. But if you're gonna use a different codec then it doesn't matter either.

By the way, what format is the video file in?
