Until now i don't know what this actually does except the reduction and increase of file size.. If i set the new buffer size to its maximum, the file size will shrink but if i set it to minimum, file size will increase.

Does changing these settings somehow affect in-game performance? like lag or loading times when many custom models/music are created and stuff..?

I'm more into performance and stability than file size as my maps are no bigger than 1mb ^__^ so yeah i just need to know which is better

Okay, I made a little test with Skibi's Castle TD from Blizzard (which takes quite a few seconds to load) and came up with the following results:

And it took around 47 seconds to load without any optimation.

(Note: I've got an AMD Opteron Processor with 2x1.8Ghz, that's why it's so slow, but isn't it in the needs of older PC's to have optimized maps? :)

I guess if you want any faster loading speed, you have to use the Widgetizer.

Edit/
Okay, I tested it with Widgetizer and all settings enabled and Vexorian's map optimizer with everything besides .slk optimization enabled (because those are already optimized) and the highest buffer size and it took merely 20 seconds to load!
