Using Custom Blizzard.j

Doesn't work anymore with 1.26?

Hi I have led to believe that Blizzard.j can be rerouted to a custom one by importing a file with path "Scripts/Blizzard.j". However it throws syntax errors when I try to call any custom defined function.

Using World Editor

I am using World Editor to make this happen although it is not happening. Is Jass NewGen Pack a requirement to make this work?

Multiplayer risk

Aside from this, I have heard that it can cause errors in multiplayer games. Does anyone have any confirmation of this or was this completely cheese in the wind?

I really hate the last update - Blizzard limited the amount of files we can use with [AllowCustomFiles=true(1)]. This, I believe, includes Blizzard.j and PU scripts.

I think that this has been done to prevent further hacking of game files, ingame, and to remove a little bit of the freedom we were given. Don't ask me why, I still think that they're idiots.

And yes, it can cause severe issues with multiplayer games, mostly with computers who have their connection lower than anyone else. Oddly, it appears that when a player is detected to use custom forbidden files, a mass of errors comes out of nowhere. I just don't know why and how can we bypass this. I think that there are ways to somehow disable the game checking for forbidden files, or to just bypass it somehow. I also believe that JNGP was able to trick around these, not tested it right now with newer version, thought.

First, the correct path should be "Scripts/blizzard.j" and not "Scripts/Blizzard.j" (even if i don't know if it's case sensitive or not)
Try also just "blizzard.j"

Are you sure that you're using the most up-to-date blizzard.j ?
It think that the newest is inside the wc3 archive war3patch.mpq (but not sure about that).

Also, i've personnaly never used a custom blizzard.j, neither heard about any problems related to multiplayers games or not.
I just know that it was possible in the past.

Hmm it needs to be jass not vJass, but for snippets it's enough good i guess.

About Jasshelper i suppose you know what you're saying (or not, but nevermind).
Don't forget to blame Blizzard, we want a trigger relative order like sc2 (without the need of close/reopen the editor) !
