Upgrade for 2nd attack?

Was wondering if there was a way to make an upgrade only effect units second attack.

What I'm trying to perform here is so people can see what level a certain upgrade is for their units. But it effects nothing of the second attack, I just wanted to use it for showing what level it is. Is there another way to do this, or to just affect their second attack? =o

you could make an upgrade that adds / upgrades a non visible ability

there are some item abilities that add a second attack

so, make a custom ability out of one of those ^ and have your upgrade upgrade the level of the ability
