How do you make a building train a unit. I added the button, checked the train ability and it still doesn't show up when I test the map.

Firstly you must give the training unit a train ability.
Secondly you must add the unit you want to train to the train ability.
Thirdly you must add the a button to the training unit that executes the right train command for the train ability.
Thats all to it. Do make sure that the buttons you use are properly set up as they deal with tooltips and such. Also be aware that custom tooltips are local to your language only (so if you are publishing to a non US server you will need to copy your localization file for all languages).
