Unable to save XXX, unknown extention""! error

I only typed "XXX" for a generic name. My real issue is that the computer does not recognize what program I'm saving my stuff from without my typing down the extension.

Model Editor: I cannot simply save from the Model Editor without me typing ".mdx" I want my computer to recognize what program I'm saving my work from, so I don't have to type the extension.
Then again, I do recall my computer stating that it does not support WarCraft III, even though I installed it.

If you're referring to Magos' Model Editor, then that's how the program was made. If you're referring to something general happening with all programs on your computer, you should try searching on Google about it.

Pardons, but I do not play StarCraft. I play WarCraft.
I cannot help it if your thread teleports from the StarCraft II section to Warcraft III Help Zone after I make my post.

That is defined by the program doing the saving. Since files are just data stored at a file path path and the extensions are just some metadata for them, even part of the file name now I think.
