Ultravision (item or the unit ability), how does it work?

Well, I saw these abilities which increases night sight range, but there are no way to change the sight range on their fields :O

How does it really workz?

It just makes the unit use its day sight radius at night, instead of its night sight radius.

Check the units Stats properties, one is Sight Radius - Day, another is Sight Radius - Night. Ultravision just makes Sight Radius - Day always apply.

I was thinking for an ingame ability that can change the sight of a unit (not night sight, both of them)

It's possible, but then you have to use upgrades.
