It might become invisible because it doesn't have an alpha channel, the alpha channel is completely black, or the image size might not be compatible (I think it's 512x64). It needs a white alpha channel on the parts you want shown in-game.

If you need help adding a proper alpha channel, you can post the texture in an attachment here.
