Creative process:
The pack is inspired by a set of icons by @A.R. from this post, and also thanks to @Kyrbi0 for searching for them!
For this one I decided to add a brigher colorful element, that hints at Troll banners, and used plain uncolored bones to underline the lowest tier of the upgrade via its visual simplicity.
Here I looked up for the OG glows on some armor/caster upgrades (like Thorium spear, Shaman claws, Spiritwalker axe) and added that blueish haze. As for the beads, they look like a more "advanced" decoration, which is also capable of hanging something on itself, so this allowed me to put a little symbol on them.
Well, here's the same story with glows. I also followed A.R.'s idea about the tusks. The tusks needed to be large enough to indicate "power" and a high level of enhancement; and since they started to cover the lighter parts of the mask and somewhat interfere with the detail, I made them black, adding a clearer highlight. Black color also allows us to talk about a "serious" level of improvement. At the end I added a feather, a fairly simple detail so as not to overload the icon and not drag attention away from the tusks. The feather also allowed me to get rid of ropes/beads/ect. that can cover the red paint.
