Well, recently, I've purchased a smaller PC to carry back and forth from school, one of the small 10.1'' ones. The problem with it is, it has no CD drive, making it near impossible to download a word processor that I bought onto it.

So far I've tryed downloading it to my main PC, then using a USB to paste it there, but to no avail, always saying I'm missing a file, when th folder is copied straight from my drive.

I've also tried using a network cable to transfer them, but neither will detect eachother.

Now, one runs Vista and the other runs XP, but I don't think thats the problem. Don't say its the firewall or a setting on vista, because I can connect to my dads PC with no trouble at all.

Thanks

I recommend using simple programs like Notepad in order to transfer it from XP to Vista and visa versa.

Open your Word file.
Ctrl + A and Ctrl + C the text.
Open Notepad.
Ctrl + V and paste it in Notepad.
Save file.
Transfer.
